Mrs. Campbell
Hi, my name is Brooke Campbell and here is my story. I was born and raised in Statesville and graduated from West High. Then went to Mitchell and transferred to Gardner Webb University and received a Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems. Pursuing my dream of doing something in computers I landed a computer programming job in Huntersville. What a fun job to do but at the same time I was sitting at a desk all day with no interactions with people. I realized fast this wasn’t for me. After searching for something different I found that education would be my life. I started teaching in 2000 and absolutely love it. Going back to school to get my Business License, I pursued higher education and received my master’s degree in School Administration. Later, I married my wonderful husband Michael in 2007 and in 2009 we had our amazing daughter, Kayte. Education is AMAZING, I love what I do and being able to make a difference in someone’s life is rewarding. Students be ready because I bring to the classroom lots of experience and many stories so be prepared to be educated on life lessons that will affect your business decisions you make in life.

Ms. Hayes
Hi, my name is Denise Hayes. I was born in Limerick Ireland and moved to Statesville in 1982. I graduated from Statesville High in 1985. I got a summer job straight out of high school at Kewaunee Scientific designing furniture and created room layouts for schools and hospitals. I worked there for 10 years. I was contacted by my high school principal asking if I was interested in teaching at SHS as there was a drafting position available. I had been assisting with the volleyball team and initially said no, but the thought of being able to share the valuable skills and job knowledge of what employers require felt like the right thing to do. I obtained my Trade and Industrial Degree from ECU. I was fortunate to be able to take classes online towards my certification. This is my 26th year at Statesville High School.

Mr. Jenkins
Hey, I am Mr. Jenkins and I teach the agriculture classes including Agriscience Applications, Horticulture and Animal Science. I grew up and still work on my family's farm in West Iredell where we grow crops, poultry and specialty animals. At a young age I gained a passion for agriculture and all of its broad aspects which led me to purse a degree in agriculture education from NC State University. While in college I met my wife, Taylor, who is also our county 4-H agent. I also served as a State FFA Officer in 2014-2015 traveling around the state and country advocating for youth, education and agriculture which further guided me into being an agriculture teacher. Agriculture is something we can not live without and in the agriculture classes you will learn information and skills that you will use in your everyday life from how to use a drill, to where your food comes from.
